We have also removed any out of date information and added expert comment.

Wondering how to reclaim lost or unspent Tesco Clubcard vouchers? The good news is it's surprisingly easy and it means you can take advantage of a whole host of perks that Clubcard vouchers bring.

You might already be shopping at the cheapest supermarket to keep the cost of your food shopping under control, but it's worthwhile checking that you are signed up to your supermarket's loyalty card scheme so you can make use of any perks they offer. This could be anything from exclusive pricing, to money off your food shop, or even days out with the family. In the case of Tesco, this will be the Clubcard.

Goodto.com's Money Editor Sarah Handley explains: "There are loads of great benefits that come with being a Clubcard member, from exclusive discounts and money off your food shop, and the opportunity to exchange your vouchers for twice their value with a host of Reward Partners, including Hotels.com, Disney +, and Virgin Atlantic."

It's important to remember that you only have two years to spend your vouchers once they have been issued, although there is a simple trick you can use if you're worried about your Tesco vouchers expiring. But what do you do if you've lost your vouchers?

How to reclaim lost Tesco vouchers

It's easy to reclaim lost or unspent Clubcard vouchers. Simply log into your Tesco Clubcard account - you’ll need your email address, password, and Clubcard number handy - and click on 'My Clubcard Account' to check for unused vouchers. You can print them out at home to use in-store or use the codes when you shop online.

Do note that if it's been more than two years since you last used your Clubcard, you'll need to register for a new Clubcard account.

How to earn Tesco vouchers

To earn Tesco vouchers, you will need to be a Clubcard member, and use your Clubcard when you shop in store or online. You'll earn one point for every pound you spend. Then, once you've collected 150 points, you'll get a £1.50 Clubcard voucher to use in-store or online, or you can save them up to spend with one of Tesco's Reward Partners.

You'll receive your Clubcard vouchers in the post every three months once you've earned at least 150 points. If you don't want to wait for your vouchers, you can request for your points to be turned into a Faster Voucher, through your online Clubcard account, that you can get within 24 hours. But there are limitations on when you can receive Faster Vouchers. You can't usually get them in the two weeks before regular Clubcard vouchers are sent out, which happens in February, May, August and November.

While Tesco Clubcard vouchers are valid for two years, Faster Vouchers expire after 21 months. And if you join the Faster Vouchers scheme, you will no longer receive a Clubcard statement in the post - you'll get a quarterly statement by email instead.

How much are Clubcard points worth?

The value of a Clubcard point depends on what you choose to spend it on. If you want to spend your points in Tesco, every point is worth a penny. So when you’ve collected 500 points you'll get a voucher to get £5 off when you shop in Tesco.

But if you really want to maximise the value of your points, then you can get twice their value if you spend them with a Reward Partner. For example, if you have £12 worth of Clubcard vouchers, you can exchange these for a three-month Disney+ subscription, which normally costs £24. If you don't have enough vouchers for this, there are other ways to get Disney+ for free

How to collect Clubcard points

To collect points, you will need to make sure you use your Clubcard every time you shop at Tesco (in store or online). For every £1 in-store or online, you’ll earn one point. If you use your Clubcard when you’re filling up your car with fuel, you’ll earn one point for every £2 you spend at Tesco petrol stations.

You can also earn Clubcard points if you use Tesco Mobile, Tesco Clubcard Pay+ or Tesco Bank. And if you'd like to collect some extra points without spending any money, check out the Clubcard website where you can take part in surveys in return for Clubcard points.

What are Clubcard Prices?

Clubcard prices are exclusive to Clubcard members, and mean that members get special discounts on hundreds of products when they shop at Tesco. If you're shopping in-store, simply open the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app on your phone and scan it at the checkout or show your Tesco Clubcard or key fob at the till. If you're shopping online, you'll automatically be shown Clubcard Prices.

What is Clubcard Plus?

Tesco Clubcard Plus is an additional loyalty scheme that is available to Clubcard members and costs £7.99 per month (£95.99 per year). With this scheme, you can save up to £20 (10%) off two separate grocery shops (in-store only) up to the value of £200 each every month.

You can also get 10% off non-grocery Tesco brands including F&F, Fred & Flo, and Tesco Pet. And if you have a pay-monthly Tesco Mobile contract, you can get double data through Clubcard Plus. You're not tied into a contract and can cancel at any time. But it's worth remembering that the scheme doesn’t apply to fuel or other exemptions including infant formula milk, prescription medicines, and purchases in Tesco in-store cafés or coffee shops.

How to get a Tesco Clubcard

It’s quick and easy to become a Tesco Clubcard member - and it's free! Simply download the Tesco Grocery and Clubcard app on your phone via the App Store or on Google Play. Then scan the app to collect points when you checkout online or in-store. You can also use the app to check your balance and even spend your vouchers using your phone.

Alternatively, you can apply online at tesco.com and print off a temporary card to use in-store - just tap it at the checkout or add your Clubcard number to your Tesco account to collect your Clubcard points as you shop.

As a Tesco Clubcard member, you'll get the following perks:

  • You’ll earn Clubcard points every time you shop online or in-store at Tesco
  • Once you’ve earned a certain number of points, you can claim them as vouchers and get money off your shopping
  • You can also swap the vouchers to access discounts and deals from a range of Tesco Clubcard Reward Partners

There are other ways to earn Clubcard points too. You can collect them at Tesco fuel stations and every time you use a Tesco Bank credit or debit card, if you have one. If you're restocking the kids' wardrobes - or your own - head in store to F&F Clothing to earn points and don't forget to consider other Tesco services like Tesco Clubcard Pay + or Tesco Mobile.

Even if you have a Clubcard, it's worth knowing how to save money on food, and if you don't shop at Tesco, we did an experiment to see if Aldi was cheaper than Lidl.
